'At first sight it may appear that an international conference on public management might not appear to be an attractive proposition for EURA members. However, there are the beginnings of a move, within public policy research as well as public management research, towards a recognition that 'place' should be given much more attention within these disciplines. It is possible, therefore, that some EURA members may like to examine the current Call for papers for the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) Conference to be held in Edinburgh on 11-13 April 2018.
I have worked with colleagues who are active in the field of public management to put forward a Panel Proposal on 'Leadership and strategic planning for places and spaces'. This Panel Proposal has been successful and it is included as 'Panel 39' in the IRSPM Call. If there is sufficient interest there could be a series of panels on this topic in Edinburgh next April.'
