Phishing alert: Recent attack on EURA

PHISHING ALERT

Dear reader reader,
We regret to inform you that EURA has recently been targeted by different phishing attacks.
These attacks generally involve emails that appear to be from the EURA President, Prof. Filipe Teles, but are actually attempts to get in contact and steal sensitive information.

Please see an example of a fraudulent message sent recently:
From: Filipe Teles (presidentboard201822@gmail.com; Presidenteuropaeischboard@gmail.com)
Hello David,
How are you doing? Please is there any possibility for you to help the board get something done today? Let me know so I can explain better.
Best Regards
Filipe Teles

We take this incident very seriously and we need your help to prevent further attacks.

Here are some steps you can take to stay safe:
  • Be extra cautious of emails from unknown or suspicious sources
  • EURA emails are sent by the secretariat@eura.org or newsletter@eura.org
  • The EURA president and members of the EURA board use their institutional addresses for official communications
  • Please check always the full address of the email sender
  • Don’t click on any links or download any attachments from unknown or suspicious sources.
  • Report any suspicious activity to your IT or security team
Thank you for your cooperation and help in keeping EURA secure.
Kindest regards,
EURA secretariat
