Membership benefits
Members of the Association:
- All members* obtain a substantial discount on the registration fee when they attend EURA events (EURA and UAA Conferences, Summer and Winter Schools, Workshops)
- All members can vote in the elections for the Governing Board and the President
- All members can use the ‘EURA News’ page to share their new publications, projects and research results
- All members can propose and apply to join EURA Working Groups
- All members receive EURA Newsletters by email, providing updates and information about events, relevant publications, research developments and funding/job opportunities
- Individual members have free access to Urban Research & Practice for the duration of their EURA subscription (an activation email is sent by Taylor & Francis)
- Institutions can advertise their forthcoming conferences, seminars and workshops, plus post advertisements for academic positions, traineeships or scholarships on EURA online channels
- Institutions are linked to the EURA website

Membership categories
The European Urban Research Association has four membership categories:
- Institution (universities, research centres, public bodies, NGOs, professional associations)
- Individual (researchers and professionals active in urban research, practice and affairs)
- Student (BSc, MSc, or PhD students and postdoctoral researchers)
- Retired (retired individual researchers and professionals)
Membership year: 1 January – 31 December.
Fee policy 2026–2030
From 2026, membership fees are aligned with three country fee groups, based on the World Bank’s 2023 GDP per capita for the member’s country. This improves fairness and affordability across different economic contexts.

- Institutions: use the country of the organisation’s registered office.
- If your country/territory is not listed or you are unsure, please contact the EURA Secretariat.
Examples: Italy → Group 1; Lithuania → Group 2; Romania → Group 3.

How to join or renew
- Complete the Membership Form 2026 (new or renewing members). Please indicate your country, membership category, and whether you require an invoice.
- Do not pay yet. After reviewing your application, the Secretariat will contact you by email with the correct fee for your country group and payment instructions.
- Once payment is received, your membership will be activated for the current membership year (1 January – 31 December).
