About the research group "Sustainable and Smart Cities", Kaunas University of Technology:
The research group "Sustainable and Smart Cities" was established in 2019 at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). The main interest is the environmental aspects of sustainable and smart cities. The group investigates various environmental assessments (carbon footprint, life cycle assessment, models of carbon sequestration in urban infrastructure), possibilities of GIS implementation, and consults on topics related to science based target initiative. Since its formation the team has been participating in international projects, preparing dissertations, and publishing research papers. In March 2024 the group launched at the university interdisciplinary laboratory centre KTU M-Lab and expanded its team to achieve even greater results in the future.
