The conference invites interdisciplinary contributions exploring how urban conservation, climate action, planning, design and community engagement can support more resilient, inclusive, healthy and livable towns, cities and regions.
We are pleased to share the Call for Papers for Livable Towns, Cities, Regions: From Urban Conservation to Climate Action, which will take place at University College Dublin from 28 to 30 June 2027, with in-person and virtual participation.
Organised by University College Dublin and AMPS Research, the interdisciplinary conference will examine how towns, cities and regions can respond to climate change, social challenges and urban transformation while recognising the importance of existing urban fabrics, inherited buildings and historic neighbourhoods.
The conference welcomes contributions from architecture, urban and regional planning, sustainability, conservation, public health, community studies, sociology, social policy, history and the wider humanities and social sciences.
Topics may include urban revitalisation, adaptive reuse, resilience, housing and affordability, community engagement, place-making, sustainable transport, accessibility, health and wellbeing, smart technologies, architectural design and climate action.
