The European Urban Research Association would like to express its sincere thanks to Università Iuav di Venezia for hosting and organising the EURA 2026 Annual Conference.

Special thanks go to the local organising committee, the conference secretariat, and all staff and students involved in the preparation and delivery of the conference across its different venues, including the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Iuav university spaces.

We are especially grateful to the keynote and plenary speakers — Patrick Le Galès, Jennifer Robinson, Maria Gravari-Barbas, and Francesco Bandarin — for their inspiring contributions to the conference theme, “Cities Under Strain: Rethinking the Ungovernable”.

Our thanks also go to the representatives of local institutions, professional organisations, civic associations, and local communities who contributed to the public engagement events, civic discussions, and mobile workshops, helping participants engage directly with Venice and its urban challenges.

We are grateful to the EURA Awards Committee, track chairs, discussants, panelists, and all participants who enriched the conference with their research, reflections, and debate. Their contributions made EURA 2026 a vibrant moment of international exchange on cities, territories, and urban governance.
