PhD Programme in urban planning, design and policy

The Politecnico di Milano, thanks to the resources made available by the Ministry of University and Research on 9th April 2022 through Decrees no. 351 and n. 352 and in collaboration with public bodies and private companies, announces 211 PhD scholarships funded with investments provided for by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The DAStU, with its PhD Programs, makes 12 scholarships available, 4 related to the programme of urban planning, design and policy.
The selection call is open to Italian and foreign nationals and the PhD programme will last three years, to start in November 2022.
All positions are fully funded.
The four available positions are based on predefined research topics as follows
- Ecological transition and a new paradigm for spatial planning: Performance indicators to select Nature-based solutions as design tools for regenerating the contemporary city
Academic Supervisor: Prof. Andrea Arcidiacono
- The contribution of digital platforms in a Recovery and Resilience perspective: exploring territorial impacts, inspiring public policies
Academic Supervisors: Prof. Valeria Fedeli and Prof. Grazia Concilio
- The role of social actors in defining and implementing territorial development strategies oriented towards social and environmental sustainability and ecological transition
Academic Supervisor: Prof. Gabriele Pasqui
- Broken Cities. The role of public action in supporting urban inclusiveness and the infrastructure of everyday life in the face of social, economic, and environmental inequalities
Academic Supervisor: Prof. Massimo Bricocoli
The application for admission must be drawn up and entered exclusively in electronic form by 2.00 pm (Italian time) on 12 September 2022.
