Beyond Planetary Apartheid – International Conference

This conference wants to discuss whether, and to what extent, are the global society and space moving toward a state of generalised and planetary, if creeping, apartheid – borrowing on ideas of Agier (2014), Brenner (2013), and Yiftachel (2009). Planning Africa is a platform for (re)thinking, discussing and envisaging the outcomes that planners desire for the future. The theme of the 2018 Planning Africa conference is “The Making of Modern African Cities”.

Call for papers – Security, Democracy and Cities

The contribution papers will address the co-production of urban security policies and will be based on the topics of the conference programme. Contributions must follow the established format and procedure and be sent in the timefraime given. More information.

The new President of EURA is Valeria Fedeli from the Milan Polytecnic. Winner of the Young Scholar Award

The committee decided to award two papers authored by emerging scholars. The highest award was given to Victor Osei Kwadwoa and Tatiana Skripka from the Maastricht School of Governance. The title of the paper is „Metropolitan Governance Cooperation and CO2 Transport Emission: A Three-Level Hierarchical Linear Model Analysis“

Personally, I was able to participate in some panels only (obviously, we had six
panels running in paralel, so it was impossbile to see them all) and I have to say

Acknowledgement to the University of Florence

Last week the annual Summer School was held in Florence in the wonderful Palazzo Medici Riccardi.
